Service Description: Community-based program includes intake and assessment, information and referral, individual and group counselling, follow up and support, resettlement assistance for shelter clients, employment help, program tailored to client's individual needs

BESS Financial Literacy Program
Financial management knowledge and hands-on, skills-based activities for select BESS participants
  • one-on-one financial coaching sessions
  • peer support circles
  • workshops on budgeting, credit counselling, tax clinics, and saving

BESS Rent Subsidy Program
Financial assistance to select BESS participants in attaining, retaining and upgrading employment, and accessing housing and counselling

Application: Self referral or referral by community agency
Eligibility / Target Population: Female-identifying individuals 16 years and older who are survivors of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and who are separated and live separately from their abuser; includes emotional, financial, physical or sexual abuse
