Service Description: Shared service between Canadian Mental Health Association - Waterloo Wellington and Homewood Health Centre, in affiliation with Hospice Wellington. Provides mental health education and training to those caring for seniors with mental illness and dementia.

Clinical and educational partnerships to enhance knowledge and skills of professional and non-professional service providers in seniors mental health issues * education and consultation services for long term care facilities, retirement homes, hospitals and community agencies

Clinical education and workshops include:
  • Gentle Pursuasive Approaches (GPA) to Dementia Care, certificate program
  • GPA recharged - refresher workshop
  • Compassion Fatigue
  • 3D's - Delirium, Depression, Dementia
  • Dementia - Overview, Communication, Activities
  • Intimacy and Long Term Care
  • Schizophrenia
  • Depression
  • Using Therapeutic Interventions to Minimize Behaviours in the Older Adult
  • Virtual Dementia
