Service Description: Emergency mental health services for youth * programs and services contain two streams * service designed to be up to one month in length

Emergency Department Diversion: immediate support for children across six area hospitals and eight local medical clinics for children * no admission is required * respite beds available at Safe Haven Youth Services

Woodlands Short-Term Stay/CAIP Transition Service: 4-6 weeks of intensive supports for youth who have been discharged from Grand River Hospital's Child and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit * two beds available at Children's Mental Health Centre



This program is accessed through hospital emergency departments, including:
  • WRHN at Midtown (formerly Grand River Hospital, KW Campus) emergency room and crisis extended assessment unit
  • Cambridge Memorial Hospital
  • Guelph General Hospital
  • Groves Memorial Community Hospital
  • Louise Marshall Hospital
  • Wellington Health Care Alliance – Palmerston and District Hospital
