Service Description:
|
In partnership with certified therapy dog teams, clients receive gentle, supportive visits that focus on comfort, connection, and joy * visits take place twice a month for 30 – 60 minutes, guided by the client’s comfort and the interaction with the therapy dog * clients are invited to engage at their own pace, whether that means petting the dog, sharing stories, or simply enjoying a calming presence * in collaboration with Sunshine therapy dogs * volunteer opportunities available

Eligibility / Target Population:
|
Older adults (65+) with a valid Ontario Health Card living in their own home in the Region of Halton * no known dog allergies * have no fear of dogs or history of trauma involving animals * have valid Ontario Health Card and have no communicable diseases
