Service Description:

Provides pensions for disability or death, financial support in the form of allowances, health care benefits and services to members of the Canadian Forces and Merchant Navy veterans who served in the First World War, the Second World War, Korean War, and the Vietnam War * certain civilians who are entitled to benefits because of their wartime service; former members of the Canadian Forces (including those who served in Special Duty Areas) * the Royal Canadian Mounted Police * survivors and dependents of military and civilian personnel
VAC services include:- mental health services, psychological support and information - call 1-800-268-7708 (VAC Assistance Service, 24/7) or 1-800-567-5803 (TTY)
- transition to civilian life services such as career transition, case management, rehabilitation services, federal government jobs for armed forces veterans, etc.
- health and well-being services such as family caregiver relief benefit, group health insurance, long term care, health promotion, veterans independence program, pastoral outreach program, homeless veteran, etc.
- disability benefits such as disability pension, disability award
- financial support such as Canadian Forces income support, death benefit, earnings loss benefit, education assistance program, financial advice, funeral and burial assistance, grave marker maintenance, retirement income security benefit, survivor's pension, war veterans allowance, etc.
